The Human Resources Specialist will provide administrative support and recruitment assistance to the Human Resources Department. As the Human Resources Specialist, you will be working closely with colleagues, candidates, vendors and clients to ensure that all business needs are met. You must be able to use independent judgement, be organized and proactive while working in a continuously changing and fast pace environment.



  • Serve as the departments front-desk support, will be the first point of contact.
  • Assists with recruitment efforts as needed.
  • Works within the HRIS system to process all necessary employment changes/maintenance.
  • Create and maintain Human Resource documentation.
  • Assists department Manager and Director with projects.
  • Maintains and updates departmental procedures.
  • Processes departmental invoices for payment and expense reimbursements as assigned.
  • Coordinates skill assessment testing for potential new hires.
  • Assist new hires with the completion of paperwork and schedule required health screenings.
  • Schedules orientation for all new hires.
  • Other duties as assigned.



High school diploma or GED and three (3) years of Human Resource or Recruitment experience. Previous experience working in the construction, marine or industrial industry would be helpful.



Requires the ability to process sudden increases in work volume. Requires the ability to work overtime when necessary.  Requires excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with employees, customers, and personnel.  Confidentiality is required. Bilingual is a plus.



Knowledge of related industry experience. Knowledge of computers and relevant software application.  Ability to work independently and as part of a team.  Ability to deliver effective results, meet tight deadlines and targets.  Should be an effectual communicator verbally as well as through writing skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Internet Explorer. Experience with applicant tracking systems is a plus.
